It strikes me with particular forboding that the ibanking douchebags took this long to figure out that when you drain the very last drop of blood from the middle class, there is no one left to steal money from. They did a magnificent job of finding a way to bleed the poor through selling the American Dream of (temporary) home ownership, but that too will have to eventually come out of the middle class. This picture has always just summed it all up perfectly.   I had it as the wallpaper for my computer on and off for years in college.  I DON’T care.  I won’t ask you for help.  You ought to know to do it without any explanation.  If you can’t figure it out on your own you’re far to thick for me to waste my words on.

Besides I won’t sink anyways, so there.

But I saw Wall E this weekend cause micahel and bonnie wanted to see it even though I was lukewarm on the idea, and I loved it so hard.  I cried like the Tenderheart I am through the whole damn thing, it was pretty rediculous.  I am such a sap sometimes.

Last night I went to see Halos open for this band powerserge in at the Disney HOB.  It was Dan Lyman’s birthday so like a million people were there.  I got to talk to some new peeps, including on person in particular I’ve always kind of wanted to talk to but was never able to. So I’d say it was a success.  I just love to watch that band, too.  I remember the first time I saw them, I was impressed with some of their songs but they hadn’t figured out how to play together yet.  So awesome to watch them coalesce into a real band.

Verdict: Surprisingly not hating my life after a long weekend in Los Angeles. Fun bowling thursday, fun movies on friday, fun concerts saturday, fun law and order sunday.  Also, its not over yet…

Last night was the fourth of July, and while I spent most of the day running around (and seeing Wall E, more on that later), I ended the evening at Wayne’s house for his fourth of July party. We were being even sillier than usual, and highlights of the night were fo sho Wayne showing me his brand new sardine dance and our decision to tape up our faces and take pictures.

This morning I woke up and put on MTV so that I could be entertained while I got dressed and then LOOK WHO I SAW ON TV. Sometimes I spend the whole day running into a wall, over and over again, just trying to get to the other side. Working with Evan, its always like, you know, just opening up a door and walking right through it.

I texted him to say how excited I was for him and he said that he didn’t know he was even on there till he got my text, it made me happy to be the bearer of good news.

Some kid came up to me while I was at the Broxnville train station today and played me his band on his iphone. He just you know, busted it out and played. It was actually decent, if they remix the track so that you can hear the vocals and there’s a chorus.

Then we talked about all the people we know in common and how excited we are for the new Finch EP and shared weirdo musician stories and it was weird that the world is that small and also that he felt comfortable coming up to me. He said he was coming up to everyone but that he could tell by my black jeans that I was a music fan. My jeans, incidentally, were a pinch hit, a last minute decision because my forever 21s with the stylish hole in the knee that I got that time I tripped in the parking lot, looked a little sloppy today.

so yeah, I guess i made a new friend, maybe.
